What We’re Crushing on This Week: 10.31.20

  • Jessica Dupuy has a new book out covering wine in TX, AZ, CO, & NM. Texas Wine Lover has a great review, and Shelly Wilfong talks about it on her latest epsiode of This Is Texas Wine Podcast. FUN FACT?!? TX has 2X the population of AZ, CO, & NM, combined. That’s one reason why Texas will win this race.
  • In case you missed this: Sonoma estimates that 70% of growers were impacted by fires this season and 25%-30% of their grapes weren’t picked and/or rejected. That’s a ballpark of 55,000-70,000 tons not picked and around $150,000,000 to $195,000,000 in lost grape sales, in case you’re keeping count… (Wine Business)
  • Michigan State Univ. Extension shares how Michigan prepares for winter. Lots in here that applies to Texas. Funny… they are keen applying Potassium post-harvest, just like Apical Texas does! (Morning Ag Clips)
  • HEY!!! Raccoons want an education, too, man. (UPI)
